Li Dongsheng, Chairman and CEO of TCL Group, said at the China Business Leaders Forum held yesterday that cloud computing is triggering the third global information technology revolution, the electronic information industry is reshuffled, and foreign companies are not leading Chinese manufacturers in terms of cloud computing. Therefore, Chinese companies must seize the opportunity of cloud computing and expand the space for industrial development.

At present, the global electronic information industry is undergoing significant changes. South Korean manufacturers have steadily increased their share in the past few years. Samsung and LG have become the two largest manufacturers of color TVs in the world. Japanese companies are relatively declining. Japanese household electrical appliance companies’ financial statements were announced earlier this year. Almost all the losses, and the loss is very large. Li Dongsheng said: "I was under the impression that such a full-line loss has never happened in history. There is a gap between Chinese household electrical appliance companies and Korean companies, but compared with Japanese brands, our global development is still relatively good."

Li Dongsheng admits that the relative advantage of Chinese companies in relation to their Japanese companies' operating competitiveness is not stable. There are still gaps in core technological capabilities and global operational capabilities, but opportunities do exist. “This opportunity is cloud computing. Cloud computing technology is a new development of information technology in a broad sense. As a chaser, if you catch up, your chances are much better than the opportunities of the traditional industries. Talking about how to catch up, Li Dongsheng disclosed TCL's strategy. He said that he would rely on the two commanding heights of the technology strategy: cloud computing and basic software platforms to apply cloud technology and cloud management in product and enterprise management, and to seize the cloud market. Through the cloud technology platform, the application service and the terminal product are better connected so that consumers can have a better experience. “One is a family unit that connects personal mobile and various digital electronic products that are inherent in the family into a small private cloud.
