Local materials, use Windows 10 game mode

In order to allow Windows 10 users to play games more smoothly, the 1703 version of Windows 10 has added a "game mode". We only need to switch to this mode when playing games. After the game mode is turned on, Windows 10 will be able to allocate the entire CPU core, ensuring that it uses the most CPU and cache resources to handle game-related data operations. Of course, there are similar optimizations on the GPU. In the “game mode”, the video memory will be assigned to the game program first, and the memory requirements of other programs will be minimized. This will better ensure that the game gets more system resources. However, note that the "game mode" of Windows 10 does not improve hardware performance. It is only to optimize the allocation of current system resources. Therefore, your computer's performance cannot adapt to the current game (such as memory capacity does not meet the minimum requirements of the game), do not expect this mode can improve your gaming experience. Whether the game runs smoothly or not depends on the optimization of hardware capabilities and the game itself.

Advanced optimization to make the game run more smoothly

As mentioned above, Windows 10 comes with "game mode" which is just an optimized allocation of current system resources, and these optimizations are all running in the background. We do not know or see the specific optimization method. Therefore, in the actual game, we can also perform more specific optimizations based on the "game mode" to make the game run more smoothly.

Reduce resource consumption

To make the game run more smoothly, the prerequisite is of course to make the game more system resources, and the main function of the above "game mode" is as well. It's just an automatic optimization that Windows 10 does. In addition, we can manually turn off Windows 10 and some processes that do not need to be frequently used, but take up lots of resources in the background.

For example, the Xbox game auto-recording function is a system resource occupying a large number of users, enter the "xbox" in the search box to open the application, then click on the left column "Settings" -> "game DVR" in the open window, and then "use" game DVR's recorded game "Clips and screenshots" and "Backup when I play games" check box is set to off, which can effectively save system resources (Figure 2).

Of course, we can also manually close other processes, such as maps, Skype, mail and other background applications. Graphics optimization

The graphics card function is an important factor that affects the performance of the game. Everyone can perform targeted optimization based on their graphics card. For example, N card users can use the official "Geforce Experience" to optimize the game. Network delay optimization

For network game fluency, network delay is also an important factor affecting fluency. The network delay optimization can be optimized according to actual network conditions. For example, users of Windows 10 laptops that use WiFi to access the Internet, because the system enables the “positioning function” by default, the system will continuously scan the list of nearby hot spots in the background, and then according to the scanned The hotspot MAC address is compared to the database to achieve positioning. This frequent scanning will cause the network to delay. Therefore, such users can enter the "Settings → Privacy Location → Close Location Services" to solve the network delay problem (Figure 5).
