Samsung said that the currently used Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 are both the first generation of 10nm LPE process technology, while the Samsung foundry's processor will use a more advanced 10nm LPP process. LPE refers to low-power early, while LPP refers to Low Power Plus, which is theoretically more advanced and can meet higher performance and power consumption requirements.
According to reports, Samsung has already begun to deploy and install related equipment in the S3 production line in South Korea's Hwaseong City, and is expected to begin mass production in the fourth quarter. Unsurprisingly, at the end of 2017, there will be commercial chips equipped with a new 10nm LPP process, and the 2018 flagship phone will be equipped with a second-generation 10nm chip. 
According to Samsung's official data, a new 10nm LPP process is used, and compared with the current 10nm LPE process, the performance of the LPP process is improved by 10% while the power consumption is reduced by 15%.
The information given by Samsung indicates that the 10nmLPP process is not currently the limit of Samsung. Within Samsung, the 10nm R&D work progress has reached the third-generation LPU, and there will be further good performance in terms of power consumption and performance.
At present, based on past experience, the improved model of the Snapdragon 835 may use the new 10nm LPP process, which benefits from the progress of the 14nm process when the Snapdragon 820 to 821 series.
In addition, Apple's A-series processors are also expected to carry this new technology, but in terms of time, the iPhone 8 is certainly too late.
