In response to this situation, Shenzhen Bay Customs stated that it will increase the investigation of illegal activities such as the illegal carrying or the smuggling of new iPads through personal possession and baggage hiding. The customs also reminded that tablet computers, including the new iPad, are one of the 20 categories of goods that should be subject to taxation as stipulated by the state. Passengers should report to the customs when they purchase new ipad overseas.
