Insiders of Huaxing Optoelectronics recently pointed out that the end of the second phase of the 8.5-generation panel production line is expected to be completed by the end of the year, and will be completed as soon as the second quarter of 2015. The second phase of the project plans to deliver 100,000 pieces of glass substrates per month. After the performance, it is expected to reach 120,000 glass substrates.
According to statistics from Huaxing Optoelectronics, the current 28-inch panel shipments are 500,000 units per month; the mainstream size of 32-inch panels is more than 1 million units per month, accounting for 6 to 70% of the total shipments; the 46-inch shipments are very low. Production will be terminated and 46-inch panels will be replaced by 48-inch panels, but initial shipments of 48-inch panels will still be subject to customer demand.
In addition, Huaxing Optoelectronics' new 49-inch panel is expected to enter the market as soon as possible in 2014. The larger 55-inch panel has two products, of which the shipment of ultra-high resolution (4K2K) panels has increased from 70,000 to 100,000 in a single month.
