Lithium battery diaphragm national standard has been drafted

The National Standard for "Polyolefin Separator for Lithium-Ion Batteries" has been drafted and data verification and standard revisions are currently underway.
According to the drafting unit of the National Standard for Polyolefin Separators for Lithium-Ion Batteries, the standard was drafted as early as 2012. In November last year, a standard draft was formed and a technical review was conducted the following month. Currently, the standard is undergoing data validation and revision of standards based on technical review opinions and recommendations.
In addition, the standard also specifies the technical requirements and test methods for diaphragm appearance, film roll appearance, thickness deviation, width deviation, bending, tensile strength, elongation at break, ionic conductivity, air permeability, etc. Seven technical properties such as uniformity and closed-cell temperature were studied and analyzed.
Lithium batteries are commonly used electronic components and have been widely used in the world. The Chinese government also attaches great importance to the development of the lithium battery industry.
As early as the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the central government invested 60 million yuan in the development of lithium batteries. At the same time, the company that is required to undertake the project invested 10 times in the proportion of supporting funds, so that the total investment will reach 600 million yuan. In 2008, the national "863" plan listed the "Key Technology Research of Low-cost Lithium Battery Separator" as a key industrialization-oriented project.
The separator's performance determines the interface structure of the battery, internal resistance, etc., directly affect the battery's capacity, cycle and safety performance and other characteristics, excellent performance of the diaphragm to improve the overall performance of the battery has an important role. Therefore, the lithium battery manufacturing requires a high consistency of the diaphragm material products. In addition to the basic requirements of thickness, surface density, and mechanical properties, there is also a high requirement for the uniformity of the size and distribution of the diaphragm micro-holes. Therefore, in view of the difficulty of the technical process, the diaphragm material is one of the key materials in China that have not yet achieved self-sufficiency in lithium batteries.
The drafting of "Polyolefin Separator for Lithium-Ion Batteries" can further standardize the lithium-ion battery separator market in China and create a good industrial development atmosphere, which is conducive to the development of China's lithium-electronic separator.
