Preview makes file search easier

Sometimes when we have more files on the hard disk, we need to open the files one by one to view the specific files. However, many files are now relatively large, especially those video files. When video files have no name, it is too time-consuming and system resources to view them. Using file preview is a good method, but the system default file preview function is very simple, so how can we improve the scope of the file preview?

Direct preview to video content

Watching videos is one of the entertainment methods many people like, so some users will download some videos when they have time and store them on their own computer hard drives. However, over time, one often finds an unavoidable problem, that is, I do not know what kind of movie this is. Although Microsoft has supported video file previewing since the earliest days of Windows XP, it still supports only a handful of video format files. And only the first frame of the video file can be previewed. Since almost all movie titles start with a black screen, the folder is full of black icons. So how to make every video file show its own best video preview screenshot?

We first downloaded the "Media Preview" software (http://) from the Internet. After the installation was completed, the software setup tool was started. Now select the "Settings" tab, enable the "Custom" option in the "Helper" option, and then adjust the "brightness" of the video file according to your own needs (Figure 1). Then click the "Video Format" tab, in the pop-up window, check the video file format that you often preview as needed, of course, we can also click on the "Select All" button to select (Figure 2). Next, in the same way, select the "Audio format" and "Image format" tabs, respectively.

Next click on the "Test and Cache" tab. This time we select a video file from the system and drag it to the "Target Area" to release it. Wait for a moment to see the resulting preview in the window. If there is no objection, click the "Clear Thumbnail Cache" button below and then click the Exit button to complete the setup (Figure 3). Now the user only needs to restart the computer. The preview image configured by this software can be displayed in front of the user. We can see that the default setting of this software does not start from the first frame of the video file, but uses the video file's five-minute screen to preview it. This can replace the video file preview function provided by the system. (Figure 4).

In addition to multimedia files, users often preview various office documents. However, these files cannot be previewed through Media Preview software, so we can only look for other alternatives. If users have used Apple's operating system, they must know that there is a very intimate feature, that is, press the space bar to preview the file. For example, when the user's mouse selects a file, pressing the space key will immediately pop up a preview window. Pressing it again will immediately close it. Now such functions can be implemented in Windows systems.

First download and run Seer professional preview tool (http://ccseer.sourceforge.net/), because this software does not support Microsoft's office software format by default, so we still need to perform this software after the installation is complete. Set it up. First find the software icon in the system tray, and click the right mouse button in the popup menu to select the setup command. Then in the pop-up setup window, select the Chinese flag and click the OK button to switch the software to the Chinese interface (Figure 5).

Then reopen the settings window and click the "Plugins" command in the left toolbar. Then, in the "All available plug-ins" list, select the "MSOffice" item and then click the download button in the lower right corner to download the plug-in (Figure 6). When the plug-in download is complete, click on the "Local Plugins" tab. Then click on the plus button in the lower right corner. In the dialog box that pops up, select the plug-in file you just downloaded. This will complete the installation of the plug-in (Figure 7). From then on, simply select a file with the mouse and click the space bar on the keyboard. At this point, a preview window will automatically pop up, and the information content will be displayed in the window.

Get rid of support software to preview

In fact, whether the use of the system's file preview function, or the use of Seer's software for file preview, in many cases require the support of related software before they can. For example, if we want to preview the contents of office files, we first need to install Microsoft's office software, and we also need to set these software as default running software for such files. If these related supporting software are not installed, the file preview cannot be displayed successfully. So if users do not like installing such software, how should we solve it?

At this time, we can actually use a third-party file manager to operate. When it comes to third-party file managers, many users will first think of Total Commander. In fact, this software has already supported the preview operation of some files by default, but if you want it to perform preview operations on common files without installing other software, then you still need the cooperation of function plug-ins. We first download a plug-in (http://) called uLister through the browser, after the download is complete, find the plug-in file in the TC Manager. Directly double-click this plugin file, a prompt window will pop up, click the "Yes" button in the prompt window (Figure 8). Then the prompt for the installation directory of the plug-in will pop up. Click the "OK" button. Since the use of this plug-in also requires Oracle's library file support, so we download Oracle's library from the Internet. After the download is complete, use the Oracle database to compress the redist directory in the package. Replace the redist directory in the uLister plug-in installation path. From then on, click on a file in TC and press F3 to preview the file.
