Guangdong plans to spend 4.69 billion yuan to develop green energy within five years

Huang Huahua, governor of Guangdong Province, visited Delta Electric and Lite-On Technology on August 18th, emphasizing that the green energy industry is the focus of Guangdong's future development.

During his visit to Delta Electronics, Huang Huahua stated that Guangdong Province will set a budget of RMB 10 billion (approximately NT$46.9 billion) and a budget of RMB 2 billion a year to support the local led industry and solar energy industry. It is hoped that Delta will set up a solar energy production line in Guangdong Province.

It is reported that Wangda, which has invested in Delta's electric power, has only achieved significant expansion in Wujiang this year. According to Cheng Chonghua, chairman of Delta Electronics, Delta Electronics has some new products that have been developed in Guangdong Province and will invest in LED industry in Guangdong Province in the future.

According to Cheng Chonghua, Delta Electronics set the main production of LED-related lamps and lanterns in Guangdong Province and signed a letter of intent with Dongguan City Government on the 17th. In the future, solar energy plants will be set up for the needs of various localities.

In addition, Huang Huahua is also deeply interested in the recent development of 3D stereo TVs and electric vehicles. He said that many of Delta's new products are impressive, including LED, solar, ultra-short-throw projectors, 3D movies, and especially 3D TVs without glasses. These products will surely have a large market in China in the future. It is also where Taiwanese business opportunities lie.

Guangdong is also very interested in Guangbao’s electric vehicle management system. It may develop electric buses in major cities in Guangdong Province and select a pilot charging zone for rapid charging stations.

According to Song Baoyuan, chairman of Guangbao Group, he has reached a consensus with the visiting delegation headed by Huang Huahua, governor of Guangdong Province. In the future, Guangdong Province will strengthen its products in LED lamps, solar agriculture sheds and electric buses. In cooperation, Lite-On has received more than 40 megawatts (MW) in agricultural sheds this year.

Song Gongyuan said that Guangdong Province is striving to develop three key industries. First, it is upgrading the industry to increase added value. The second is LED indoor and outdoor lighting, and the third is alternative energy, such as new energy sources and electric vehicles.
