How to merge partition partition tool merge partition specific how to do

The "Merge Partition" feature is also a useful feature that visualizes complex operations as if it were free space. When you use it to expand a disk, it actually performs partition movement, expansion, and so on. Maybe you have a hard time getting an unallocated space, but you don't know how to use it to expand the partition or it takes more time, then you can use the merge function to merge it into any one you want. The disk to be expanded (provided that it is on the same hard disk). Another feature of "merge partitions" is that you can merge two adjacent disks directly. It has the advantage of merging two small partitions into one large partition without changing the data in the adjacent two disks to make full use of the remaining space. The specific steps are given below.

note:

Before partitioning, for some important data, you can use the free backup software: easy backup to backup, it supports backup system, disk, partition, file, scheduled backup and so on.

Merge partition operation case 1: merge unallocated space into one partition

1. Download the free partition assistant, install and run. As shown in Figure 1: As you can see, the C drive is about 29GB in size and there are two unallocated spaces on Disk 1. Now let's combine the two unallocated spaces into the C drive:

2. Select C, click the right mouse button to select "Merge Partition" or select "Merge Partition" in the sidebar partition operation, as shown in Figure 2 below:

3. In the pop-up window, as shown in Figure 3, check the unallocated space that needs to be merged. When there are multiple unallocated spaces, you can select multiple at the same time, and then click OK to return to the main interface:

4. Submit the above operation, click the “Submit” button on the toolbar, and click “Execute” in the pop-up window, as shown in Figure 4. It may take a while to execute, and the length of time spent depends on the amount of data in the partition. This requires you to wait patiently, please do not force the program to terminate:

Merge partition operation case 2: merge two existing adjacent partitions

1. Combine D and E as shown in Figure 5. The previous steps are the same. D and E disks are merged into the D drive (Note: after the merge, an e-drive folder will be created under the D drive, the data of the E drive will be moved here), check D, E, and select merge in the lower right corner. To D:

2. Finally confirm the operation you want to perform, then click the “Submit” button on the toolbar, click “Execute” in the pop-up window, you may need to restart the computer during the operation, click “Yes” in the pop-up window to let the program Wait for the operation to be performed in the restart mode, as shown in Figure 6. It may take a while to execute, and the length of time spent depends on the amount of data in the partition. This requires you to wait patiently, please do not force the program to terminate.

3. Sometimes it is not necessary to restart, but there is a program running on the partition that is currently being operated. After clicking “Execute”, the prompt dialog window shown in Figure 7 will pop up, prompting to close the program running on this partition, click "Retry", you can close the currently running program, avoid restarting:

Partition Assistant This update provides more intuitive features to make operations easier. If you want to expand the C drive, but there is no unallocated space on the current disk, you can use the free space allocation function to quickly expand the system partition. For details, see the article "How to allocate free space to other partitions". Go to the Partitioning Assistant tutorial to learn more about partitioning tutorials.

note:

1. The partition software is recommended to be installed on the C drive.

2. The boot partition before the win7 system partition cannot be merged.

3. It is best to perform a disk check (chkdsk) before operating each partition. If there is an error, please fix the error first, and then open the software to perform the operation.
