HTC announced the winners of the first round of VR for Impact project, which set aside $10 million in prize money for VR developers who support the UN's sustainable development goals. The first application that accepted the bonus was SpaceVR, which allows users to experience space from a satellite perspective. The second award-winning application is Tree, an interactive tactile experience that highlights the reality of deforestation. The third application is Extraordinary Honey Bee.

SpaceVR's developers will launch SpaceX’s first VR satellite experience into space later this year. After entering space orbit, satellites can transmit panoramic VR or 360-degree video streams. In this way, "SpaceVR" can provide a seemingly impossible first-person view of the space experience in the user's real environment.
"Tree" is a tactilely enhanced VR experience that explores the fate of life and tropical rain forests and shows viewers the wide range of forests that have been felled and their impact on the environment. The experience is also an official recommendation of the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and the Tribeca Film Festival.
The same "Extraordinary Honey Bee" introduced to the people that the current bees are decreasing at an alarming rate. This instructive VR experience has aroused people's attention to the habitat of bees and the current protection schemes.
These award-winning projects can be accessed at the Viveport store after completion. "SpaceVR", "Tree" and "Extraordinary Honey Bee" are the only first batch of three prize-winning works. These works have been selected for many years of project plans and receive a number of subsidies each year. HTC will also announce the 2017 subsidy program at the end of the year.
