Repeated investment hinders the development of LED industry across the Taiwan Strait

Liu Mingkang, the former chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission and honorary president of Lingnan College of Sun Yat-sen University, publicly stated that the crisis of heavy investment in the LED industry is a key issue in the development of the LED industry across the Taiwan Strait.

The LED industry in Taiwan has developed over the past 30 years. After many eliminations and integrations, it has only achieved its current results after a long period of development. However, LED manufacturers in mainland China did not learn from the lessons and lessons learned. Now LED lighting development has to re-take the path that Taiwan’s LED has gone through, which is not worth the candle.

Mainland LED manufacturers are facing a complete elimination, and LED manufacturers in Taiwan have also been affected, resulting in profitability difficulties. As a result of the repeated investment of the LED industry on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, the profit-makers are the major European and American manufacturers that have already been well-positioned in the international lighting circuit. As a result, these manufacturers have obtained cheaper LED chips and packages, and because they enjoy the value of international brands, Terminal prices have not reflected the decline in LED components in the past two years.

Now the mainland authorities are focusing on becoming the leader of the international market for the future. They are faced with leading technology companies in Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea. They need to use the experience accumulated in Taiwan in the past 20 or even 30 years in a short period of time. It is time to change the policy of Taiwanese competitors as competitors.
