The OLED field is not powerful! Sony Panasonic jointly develops OLED technology

LG ’s retail store in South Korea will start accepting reservations for 55-inch OLED TVs this week at a unit price of 11 million won (about 10,340 US dollars). As the world's largest TV manufacturer, Samsung has dominated the small-size OLED display market for smartphones and other mobile devices. The two Korean companies are competing to release 55-inch OLED TVs.

Japanese manufacturers such as Sony, Panasonic, Sharp and Toshiba have also spent years developing OLED technology, but they have failed to achieve commercialization. In order to narrow the gap with South Korean competitors, Sony and Panasonic's two big rivals formed an alliance in June this year to jointly develop OLED production technology.

LG said it would announce the listing date and pricing of overseas markets in the next few weeks, while Samsung has not announced the listing date.

Due to technical difficulties in mass production of large-size OLED displays, many manufacturers still focus on the field of ultra-high-definition TVs, and the resolution of these products reaches four times that of current high-definition LCD TVs.

LG launched the world ’s largest ultra-high-definition TV last year, priced at $ 23,000. Ultra-high-definition television may become a big hit at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) next week. Many analysts expect that Samsung will launch an 85-inch ultra-high-definition TV.
