In terms of backlight modules, Zhongqiang Optoelectronics shipped approximately 5.77 million units of backlight modules in August this year, and consolidated revenues of approximately 3.256 billion yuan, down 1% and 5% from July respectively. In the first eight months of this year, shipments of backlight module products reached 44.27 million, with revenue of approximately RMB27.48 billion, up 4% year-on-year and 16% decline. Looking forward to September, Zhongqiang Optoelectronics said that although NB and tablet computer models will continue to increase shipments, TV and monitor backlight modules may be affected by the boom, resulting in a decline in shipments, although the overall backlight module shipments may be higher in September. The month increased, but the revenue situation remains to be seen.
In August, Zhongqiang Optoelectronics shipped approximately 87,000 projectors and revenue of approximately 1.172 billion yuan, up 7% and 14% respectively from July. In the first eight months of this year, the number of projectors shipped reached approximately 728,000 units, an annual decrease of approximately 9%. In the first eight months, the cumulative revenue of projectors reached approximately 9.952 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of approximately 15%.
Zhongqiang Optoelectronics shipped about 460,000 pieces of backlight modules for TV TV panels in August, up 11% month-on-month, and the penetration rate of LED backlights was 86%. However, the shipment of monitor models was about 1.6 million pieces, and the monthly reduction was 7%. The penetration rate of LED backlights increased from 85% to 91%. The combined shipments of notebook and tablet backlight modules totaled approximately 3.25 million units, a decrease of 4% per month.
