ROHM launches mass production of the smallest transistor package "VML0806"

Recently, the well-known Japanese semiconductor manufacturer Rom (headquartered in Kyoto, Japan) has begun to mass-produce the world's smallest ※ size transistor package "VML0806" (0.8mm × 0.6) for small and light electronic devices such as smart phones and digital cameras. Mm, height 0.36mm).

The new package is first used in small signal MOSFETs. On the basis of maintaining the basic performance, compared with the small size 1212 package (1.2mm × 1.2mm, height 0.50mm) of the small signal transistor, the installation area is reduced by 67% and the thickness is reduced by 28%. In the future, ROHM plans to expand its application to a wider range of circuit applications such as bipolar transistors and digital transistors, which will help save space and density for various machines.
